The Power of Connecting and Questioning

It’s no secret. Powerful readers make connections and ask questions while they read. Parents can help their children strengthen these Reading Powers by modeling their own connections and questions during reading time at home. Remember to choose books that evoke memories for you and invite questions YOU may have. Guide your child to ask questions connected to the story while you are reading together.

In next week’s newsletter we will introduce Adrienne Gear’s third Reading Power: Visualizing.

Don’t forget to tune in to the Reading Corner!
